If you are looking for a quiet retreat from the mad world, this is certainly the place to enjoy. This historical hotel has been meticulously restored throughout. Cindy is the most delightful Innkeeper who welcomes you in and makes you feel at home. The breakfast she prepared for us in the morning was not only beautiful, but so delicious! I am only sad that we only enjoyed one night here. Thank you Cindy for our wonderful stay!

We have stayed here twice and both times were fantastic. The service is impeccable, breakfast is amazing, followed with the small touches provided by Cindy the Innkeeper: evening snack, wine, and bikes and kayaks available to use. I will request the balcony for breakfast whenever possible. The room was clean, functional, well maintained, and comfortable. You have a key to the house and to each room (different key for each). The location is on the water, close to Salisbury, good food close by, and halfway between blackwater national wildlife refuge and Crisfield.

I love this place, there will be many return trips! The hotel itself has been meticulously restored and decorated to reflect the original age of the mid 1800s. The furniture, the books, even the bedding are mean to transport you back in time. The location is phenomenal, right on the water and you can sit and enjoy the views and wildlife. This is a place you go to enjoy calm stillness, and just breathe and absorb what life used to be like. I stayed 3 nights with my sister and a friend, and this is my sisters 3rd stay. The staff and Cindy were all fantastic, and breakfast was amazing and different each day. Very clean, and many small thoughtful extras.

Review This was my favorite hotel experience in my whole life of 68 years! The house is beautiful. The charm of the antique interior reminded me of relatives homes I visited as a child. Our room had a canopy bed & a beautiful view of the marina. The breakfast was superb. Somebody is an excellent chef! The dining room had plenty of light. The servers were sweet & personable. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed in the Federal Room, which overlooked the ferry and water right in front of Whitehaven Hotel. There is an old-world charm to the entire hotel, which, if you're looking for a way to enjoy a getaway from your phones and away from watching TV like you do every week night this is the most pleasant place to do it. Whitehaven offers biking and kayaking, and on Saturdays, a pontoon ride to the winery. Breakfast is served at 9 am. with their own coffee blend, orange juice, and the freshest herbs. It also has a gift shop with unique and coastal inspired gifts. If you're checking in for this year of 2023, you might also get to see the Whitehavens new residents, the Whitehaven ducks. The service was impeccable! Cindy, the innkeeper and her staff, made us feel welcome and gave excellent advice for local dining and points of interest. Our room's bed was made, and the bathroom tidied up while we enjoyed our outings. Location was absolutely perfect for if you wanted to antique in neighboring towns see other points of interest and enjoy local wildlife.

What a charming place this is, and we feel so fortunate to have found it. The short ferry ride across the river, nests of osprey nearby, beautiful gardens, the magnificent restoration of this early 19th century structure, all added up to a memorable stay. And, of course, Cynthia's gourmet breakfast to top it all off.

My wife and I stayed for an overnight for a quick get-a-away from the hustle & bustle. Great location right next to the Whitehaven Ferry and lots of wildlife to enjoy around t he adjacent river and wetlands. Our host Cindy was very attentive and had lots of stories to share about the Hotel's history - ask to view some of the old TV press coverage during last renovation! Recommend checking out nearby Red Roost for dinner, then slip down to the 'end of the road' to Bull Lips Dock Bar for a nightcap with a great view right on the river. Only one recommendation for improvement: addition of a built-in firepit out near the garden area off SE corner of hotel!

We spent a lovely weekend at the Whitehaven. It has spectacular views of the Wicomico River and surrounding marshes. The hotel provides free use of its kayaks, and their is a kayak water trail through the marshes nearby. (At high tide, it was a two-hour paddle out and back.) Cindy Curran, the innkeeper, was friendly, helpful and an amazingly good cook. Our breakfasts were lavish.

This was our fourth visit. We've been there a couple of times in October and a couple more times returning to NJ after a week on Ocracoke Island in the summer. If you're visiting places to the north on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (e.g. St. Michaels, Easton, Oxford), I highly recommend adding a stay at the Whitehaven Hotel. It is a beautifully restored 19th century hotel on the Wicomico River. The views are beautiful as are the gardens and rooms. A must see and it costs the same as a Holiday Inn on Route 13. Breakfast is always delicious. If you're coming from the south by all means take the Whitehaven ferry. It's great fun. There is a restaurant called the Red Roost five minutes drive from the hotel but it is only open in summer. In the fall you can drive 10 minutes or so north to the country club. The food is reasonable and pretty good. This really is a unique place.
